FAQs

Have questions? You're not alone.
This space is designed to answer some of the most common things people ask before starting therapy. If you're still unsure, you're always welcome to reach out.

Do I need a diagnosis to attend therapy?

Not at all. Many of my clients self-identify as neurodivergent without having a formal diagnosis. If you’ve ever felt out of step with the world, overwhelmed by expectations, or like your mind works differently — this space is for you.

You don’t need a diagnosis to be supported, understood, or welcomed in therapy.

Can you diagnose me with ADHD or autism?

No, I can’t offer a formal diagnosis. I’m a psychotherapist and only a psychologist or psychiatrist can diagnose you in Ireland.

That said, I can absolutely support you in exploring whether a diagnosis might feel meaningful or useful. We can work together to reflect on your experience, unmask internalised self-beliefs, and, if desired, I can guide you through the steps to pursue a diagnosis with trusted professionals.

What happens during a walk and talk session?

We meet outdoors in a quiet natural space around Malahide Castle. We walk side-by-side (or pause whenever you like) and talk at your pace. Session are adapted to be as accessible as possible and to fit your needs.

What if the weather is bad?

We can still go out and brave the elements. There’s a saying that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothing.

Many clients find that walking in the rain or wind can be calming and even empowering. Of course, your comfort is always the priority. We’ll check in about clothing, conditions, and access needs.

I experience sensory overload. Will this type of therapy work for me?

Yes. I work in a sensory-aware, neurodivergent-affirming way. We choose quiet, low-stimulation locations. You’re free to stim, fidget, wear headphones, or bring sensory tools. There’s no need to mask or perform.

How long are sessions and what do they cost?

Sessions are 60 minutes and cost €60. Payment and scheduling can be discussed during your free 15-minute consultation. I accept Cash and Revolut Payments.

I’ve had difficult therapy experiences before, is this different?

Many of my clients have had invalidating or uncomfortable experiences in traditional therapy settings. This space is designed to be different:

  • No pressure to “fix” yourself.

  • No masking required.

  • No clinical language unless it's helpful to you.

  • No need to educate your therapist about Autism or ADHD.
